* MOAA was honored to serve as the 2015 host organization of the Veterans Day National Committee and participate in the annual Veterans Day National Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.

* MOAA president, Vice Adm. Norbert R. Ryan Jr., USN (Ret), joined our nation’s president, the secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, other senior officials, and members of the VDNC at the Presidential Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath-Laying Ceremony, conducted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

* MOAA sincerely appreciates the efforts of our network of state councils and more than 400 affiliate chapters who actively embody the concept of lifetime service at the national, state and community levels. Our sincerest thanks to the all the council and chapter leaders who attended the Veterans Day ceremony and MOAA-hosted reception at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial. Our guests were warmly welcomed and expressed deep appreciation for MOAA’s hospitality and leadership. Special thanks to the Northern Virginia Chapter for their outstanding presentation of the colors and the Mount Vernon Chapter for the professional laying of the wreath.

* The state report card, produced annually by the Military Officers Association of America, tracks state level policies across the nation benefiting current, retired, and former servicemembers and their families. Gains since last year have enabled MOAA to introduce a half dozen new categories, as well as expand some returning ones.

* The 2015 Levels of Excellence Awards Ceremony held on October 31st at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel at Disney Springs as part of MOAA's Annual Meeting had the North Carolina Council of Chapters Presidents, or representatives from 8 of the 10 Council Chapters which earned recognition, in attendance to receive their streamers.

* Pictured (above right) is COL-Ret. Jeri Graham, USA receiving the 5-star award for the NC Council from MOAA Chairman of the Board, GEN Tony Robertson, Jr., USAF-Ret.
